I could not help but chuckle when a friend of mine asked if there were any Roller Derby video games. You would think there would be at least one right? Well as near as the Derby Diva’s can tell there is actually no such game. I think that is pretty surprising actually. That is definitely a shame because there seems to be games available from anything from duck hunting right out to golf and tennis. My grandfather might find golf exciting but I sure don’t. Maybe the thought was this was to niche of a sport and there would not be enough interest to garnish sales. If the software companies had ever been to an actual Roller Derby Exhibition they would see that the sport has been and still remains very popular. I can imagine it in my minds eye, much like the WWE games, you could build each member of your Roller Derby Team, select the hair color, body type position and even the over all personality. Can you imagine what fun it would be to have video Roller Derby Tournaments.
It seems back in 2009 Blast magazine promised all us Roller Derby Fans that there was a Roller Derby game in development. Guess it just never happened, or maybe I am looking in the wrong places. If that should be the case drop me a Tweet at Derby Diva’s Twitter and set the record straight. Hopefully there is some developer out there that will get on this. I have every reason to believe it would be popular.

It would be interesting if there was a Nintendo Wii version, can you imagine? a special set in which you can skate all you want in a fixed place but in the screen you are jumping mountains, running at 140km/h, etc, it’s quite an option for developers.
Actually there is a similar game, but it is very old school now. It is called Roller Games and was on the first Nintendo System ( http://www.consoleclassix.com/nes/roller_games.html). Then there was another one called “California Games” where one of the events was roller skating. I’d love to see a more modern version come out.
Isn’t there something like that on Nintendo Wii? I’m not sure but I think I saw something.. Anyway, the idea does not sound very interesting to me, it may be fun, but certainly not as fun as riding real rollers, falling and learning lol
Although. I am too afraid to even try this game. I would really like to try this game since I have a liking on video games and also that I won’t be breaking any bones of mine from playing this video game. This would be the perfect game for me, LOL.
That is surprising because it seems like there’s a video game for just about everything these days. Okay, so, where is our techie know how geek who can put this together? Someone has to be able to get it done!
I say just give it time. There is bound to be a roller derby game for the WII at some point. As someone else already pointed out, there are games for just about everything else so I think it is just a matter of time before we see something like this (fingers crossed because it sounds like a lot of fun to me).
Well this would be real fun. To have gaming on skates. I am surprised that none exists or as Derby diva suggest there is some that exist but not popular yet. I am on my hunt online and if I find one, will certainly keep you guys posted.
Looks like we all may get our wish. I will definitely be getting this one as soon as it hits the shelves. I was wondering when WII would come up with something like this seeing how their WiiWare has just about every other sports game under the sun:

Thanks for the link. I am an avid gamer and used the love Cali Games back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. This one is already getting poor reception. I wonder why? It seems pretty interesting to me. I guess if you can’t blow things up and kill people with weapons then it’s not fun to some people.
I read some of those reviews too and that’s from people that of course are just giving their opinion before they play the game. I’m gonna have to try it out on my own before saying that it “sucks” or it’s a “bad game idea”. I actually think it will be interesting and fun.
